80 for 80

Posted on

Between the 6th of June this year (D Day) and the 8th of May 2025 (V E Day), our bellringers plan to ring at 80 different churches in a bid to raise funds for the Royal British Legion as part of the commemoration of the 80th anniversaries of both dates. There are 79 churches with 6 or 8 bells affiliated with the Derby Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers (DDA) which are available to ring at, so these will form the bulk of the ringing and therefore our ringers will be travelling all across the county to achieve this objective. To get the 80th church the ringers have been in contact with the ringers at Holy Trinity Church in Eckington Worcestershire to arrange a visit to ring their bells.

The ringers have sponsorship forms so please support this initiative by approaching one of them, using the QR code or by clicking on the donate button below.

Watch our Facebook page for updates on how we are doing. You can also keep your eye on our Map to see the locations change from blue to orange as we attain our objectives.
