During the first World War almost 100 people are recorded on the War Memorial at Eckington as having given their lives for the sake of others. We are remembering each one of them on the 100th anniversary of their deaths, where we know it. We have reserved the “Men’s” Chapel in the church to commemorate these and others who gave their lives for us. There is a display of WW1 memorabilia there which is being added to during this 4 year period 100 years after that war. If you have items which you are happy to loan us for this display we would be happy to include them if suitable. Please contact us to arrange this or if you have any information you would like to share.
Listed here are those on our memorial with their date of death where known.
