It is over 2 months since we have last held a remembrance service for a World War 1 soldier from Eckington. But this month 100 years ago was a sad month for Eckington, four soldiers perished in that awful war! We will be remembering each of them at a special service of remembrance on the 100th anniversary of their deaths. This month these will be Sunday 11th March for Private Joseph Askew, Thursday 15th March for Second Lieutenant Alfred Parks Dale, Wednesday 21st March for Sergeant John Fenton and Private Arthur Nettleship. The services will all start at 11:00 a.m. preceded by the tolling of a bell. Everyone is welcome to these services, will you join us to remember these brave men of Eckington who gave their lives for us?
