Holy Week & Easter

Our services for Holy Week leading up to Easter Day!

Tuesday Morning Communion 4th April, 9:30 a.m.

Join us as we celebrate the Eucharist in a short service at the High Altar.

Maundy Thursday – Thursday 6th April, 7:30 p.m.

We commemorate the Last Supper, the time when Jesus, surrounded by his friends, shared the Passover meal. A Eucharist Service finishing with the stripping of the altars which symbolises the abandonment of Jesus by his disciples and the stripping of Jesus by the soldiers before his crucifixion. The High altar is left bare with a wooden cross waiting for our Good Friday services. Join us for this very moving service.

Ecumenical Service – Good Friday 7th April, 11:00 a.m.

The local churches of all denominations join together at the Cross in the centre of Eckington for this open-air Good Friday service. Some members of St Peter & St Paul’s congregation will process a wooden cross from the church starting at about 10:30 a.m. This procession is symbolic of the journey our Lord took on his way to Calvary to suffer on the cross for our sins.

Hour Before the Cross – Friday 7th April, 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

You’re welcome to come and join us in church for the Last Hour before the Cross. This is a prayer and meditation service at St Peter and St Paul’s Church as we remember Jesus’ last hour before his death.

Easter Day – Sunday 9th April, 9:30 a.m.

Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

On Easter Day we commemorate Jesus’ victory over all. We shall be joining together in a service of Holy Communion to celebrate his rising. The service starts at St Peter and St Paul’s, Eckington at 9:30 a.m. Please join us or if you are unable to be there in person you can follow the service on our video stream.
