On Friday 28th June 2019 the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Versailles treaty to officially end the First World War we held a service of remembrance to honour those last few men listed on our memorial whom we had previously not commemorated because of lack of information on their death dates. The original initiative to carry out these services was taken in 2013 by the then churchwardens Barrie Goodwin and Don Jones. They are photographed here following that service at the “Men’s Chapel” in St Peter & St Paul’s Church which has become a shrine to all the fallen soldiers memories. This display will remain in the church for some time so that visitors can look at the artifacts and memorabilia.
