On Wednesday 26th October we shall be remembering Private Edmund Bruce Hollingworth who died on that day in 1916 aged just 20. Edmund is one of the few soldiers buried in Eckington Cemetery There will be a short service of remembrance for Edmund at the church at 11:00 a.m. Following the tolling of a bell at 10:55. Please join us to pay respects to the memory of another brave Eckington man who gave his life that ours may be better.
Concert for New Macmillan Cancer Centre
Singers Unlimited, four singers who formed a cabaret group as members of the former South Yorkshire Opera, are to hold a concert in Hasland Village Hall, Eastwood Park, Chesterfield S41 0AY on Saturday 29th October at 7.30 pm. The Chesterfield Royal Macmillan Cancer Centre is a new £8.9m development, due to open later this year, on the site of the current Chesterfield Royal Hospital, to meet the growing needs of those affected by cancer, specifically in the Chesterfield and North and NE Derbyshire area.

Each Tuesday we are opening the church from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. to visitors. All are welcome to come and look at probably the oldest building in Eckington, to sit for a while or say a prayer or merely have a short break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Light refreshments will also be available. Why not come along and enjoy a friendly welcome from our volunteers.
